The Annual Report (2016)
This years Annual Report has been published. As in previous years we have created a web page for the Annual Report and it is published on the website under the 'About Us' Tab (hover over the Tab and the drop down menu will appear) where it will be possible to download, read and print as well as read on line. We have also included Quick Links to the on line report which enable you to jump to a particular part of the report. Printed copies will be available from the church but it is hoped as many as possible choose to view on-line. SOUTH STREET WINDOW
Lynne Antell has been decorating the South Street  window for several years and needs to retire.   She has done an amazing job as this window is the first thing many people see before they realise they are in front of a church.  Could you or a group of friends decorate the window on  a monthly basis? If no-one comes forward it could mean we have  an empty window.  For further details see Wendy

CHURCH LOCKS
All the locks have now been changed on external doors and key cabinets. If you still have an old key please return it by no later than Sunday 14 December 2015.  Just put it in an envelope and leave it in the metal post box by the Charles Street entrance.  The new key will also work in the main front entrance to the Church on South Street. If you do not have a new key and need one, speak to Paul Smith or Heather Bland.

TOOLS WITH A MISSION
Thank you for the many tools and sewing items that were donated for the Tools with a Mission charity for the harvest festival.Besides the tools that were displayed in church, many others were taken straight to our home. An amazing £264 was also donated, to help with the refurbishment and transportation of the tools. Thank you everyone John and Wendy Hilton

THE CHURCH SHOP
As an experiment to encourage visitors, the Church Shop will remain open until 1.00pm every day from the end of September until the end of the year. If the number of visitors during the extra half hour shows significant support, we will continue to stay open until 1.00pm.

Our wonderful Christmas cards are now on display. All our seasonal cards support a charity so come and choose yours now.

KEY CHANGES
Letters to all church members are available at the South Street Entrance Foyer on Sundays regarding the key exchanges that will take place in October for all key holders.  Please make sure you collect your letter so you will know the dates when we will be available to exchange your existing key for a new one

REFUGEE CRISIS
Thank you for your generous response to the refugee crisis – Hey Baby shop in Poundbury is taking donations of clothing and monetary donations can be made via Christian Aid envelopes today or to take away. Requests for housing and adoption of minor children are currently being looked into.

NEPALESE EARTHQUAKE APPEAL
Thank you to all those who generously donated to the Christian Aid retiring collection at the end of morning worship last Sunday (25th April) for the survivors and injured of the Nepalese Earthquake. In the space of 10 minutes or so you donated £826.35. This amount also includes £113.60 from the young people of the church, raised by them at the Easter Breakfast. Thank You to them and to you all.

EASTER OFFERING
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Easter Offering appeal.
A total of £241.30 was collected.

Extra Coffee Shop volunteers needed
Tuesday Coffee Shop The  coffee shop on a Tuesday needs some extra volunteers on a temporary basis to cover for ill health. If you could help in the short term and possibly be on the reserves list in the longer term, please see Ruth Archer. Thank you

New stewards elected
At the AGM two new stewards were elected – Alex Reed and Elizabeth Martin. We thanked Janice Young and Margaret Knighton, who have served as stewards and are now retiring.  Wendy Hilton will remain as senior steward for a second year.

World Church Committee Christmas Coffee Morning
Saturday 29th November 2014,This was our last fundraising event for Mercy Ships and it raised in excess of £1200.00. Thanks to all who supported this event.

Reform Magazine subscribers
The Reform magazine subscriptions for 2015 are due now and Mary Lucraft will be working with Madge Wagstaff to collect these. The cost remains at £25 for 10 copies. If you wish to renew Reform magazine for 2015 please contact Mary - (Click here to send a message) as soon as possible. New subscribers are also welcome.

Journey to the Stable -  2013
Following on from the success of last years event and the Journey to the Empty Tomb run at Easter, we are delighted to announce the dates of this years "Journey to the Stable". Feedback from a wide cross section of previous participants has indicated this event brings many different things to different people. All age groups, including School groups have enjoyed earlier "Journeys" we hope this year will reach as many if not more. For more details Click here

New Methodist Minister
The Revd Paul Arnold will be leaving Dorchester on 31st August 2013, fo a new role in the North Dorset Circuit. His position as Superintendent Methodist Minister in the Bridport/Dorchester Circuit will be filled by Revd Stephanie (Steph) Jenner who is coming to us from Yorkshire. 

Steph is currently serving at Bailiffe Bridge, Ebenezer and Clifton in the Calderdale Circuit half time and half time as District Mission Enabling Officer. She was born in 1968 and grew up in a village on the Somerset/Dorset border.

Her probationer years and subsequent ministry have been in Brighouse.Pastoral Visitor for Dorchester United Church
The new United Church Pastoral Visitor has been appointed. This position has arisen following the retirement of Revd. Brenda Stephenson in October last year. The object is to support our minister Revd. Paul Arnold with the important role of visiting the sick and the elderly. The role will be for 8 hours per week beginning on 1st February 2013. The Pastoral Visitor can be contacted through Paul Arnold, the Stewards or from the Contact Us page

Coffee Lounge New Art Exhibition

Fordington ChurchFordington Methodist Church Closes
The church sadly closed its doors for the last time following the last service held on the 25th November 2012.

Brenda StephensonBrenda Retires
This weekend (27th & 28th October) sees a big send off to our minister Rev Brenda Stephenson who officially retires on 31st October. A party for 150 has been arranged for the evening of Saturday 27th, and a concert  in the afternoon of Sunday 28th.
