Tools with a Mission

TWAMTools With A Mission enables people to earn a living and to support themselves.

In many countries of the world people have few skills, little education and no means of earning a living. A switch from aid-dependency to self-sufficiency is impossible without help.

TWAM started over 25 years ago, and has since then given this help by collecting and refurbishing tools and equipment no longer required in the UK and sending them overseas.

The new TWAM website is here!
We are pleased to say that the brand new TWAM website is now up and running.  There are still a few tweaks required but we are really pleased with it.  Please do have a look at it, as it contains lots of new information and access to all our key resources.  You will find case studies, posters and leaflets you can download, plus pictures of all the tool kits and up to date tool lists.

The 'where we work' pages have some great stories from some very unusual countries.  So please do go and have a browse around

Last year over 434 separate organisations benefited from aid shipped from TWAM's warehouse in Ipswich.

We need your help.  Could you help by volunteering to drive a new van in Dorset one day every 10 weeks, to either collect tools locally or to take a full van of tools to the M25.   Here it will be swopped for an empty van and the full van will then proceed to Ipswich, where the tools are refurbished?  They are then packed into skill packs eg carpentry, plumbing, car mechanics, sewing and send out to vocational training centres in Africa, where they are given to young people finishing their course.  This enables them to earn their own living and not rely on aid.
The van can be driven on an ordinary driving license and there are no age restrictions.
If you could help just one day every 10 weeks (only 5 days a year) or would like to know more information,  please contact John and Wendy Hilton - see below for contact details
