Preacher: John Walker
Additional Information: Remembrance Service: Normally we observe the two minute silence at 11am, but this year neither service covers that time, and it is obviously impossible for both to do so. Although it will not be at 11am, we shall observe a two minute silence during each service. What is important is that we respect and honour with gratitude those who made the ultimate sacrifice that we might live in freedom and peace.
Our live services, with a preacher in the church, continue to evolve in the light of updated national guidance on Covid-19.
The regular Sunday morning services begin at 10.00am and 11.15am, and last about 35-40 minutes. In line with a phased approach to relaxing more of the Covid restrictions, live singing by the congregation will now be allowed: you may also stand to sing (with or without mask) if you feel comfortable doing so. Although people can make their own choice about wearing masks, the Stewards now suggest that when you sit down for worship, you are free to take off your mask if you wish to do so. Use of hand gel will still be offered as you enter.
To retain partial social distancing, we will continue to have a maximum of 60 people in the church, so you will have to book if you want to attend the 10.00am service. You do not need to book a seat for the 11.15am service. While most bookings will be for unallocated seats, reserved for seats for either service can be booked in advance for those with specific needs.
To book a place, and / or reserve a specific seat to meet your needs, please contact Wendy Hilton by 6pm on the day before. The preferred contact method is email: you can send an email via the Contacts page, confirming your name, contact details, which service you wish to attend, and how many seats you want to book. Alternatively, you can call the Church Office on (01305) 457477 and leave a message with the same information: name, contact details, which service and how many seats (especially for reserved spaces) are being requested. The answerphone for this number will be checked daily. Church Members with access to the Church Address Book can also use the personal details listed to make direct contact with Wendy.
Refreshments continue to be offered between the two services, starting at 10.30: please see page 2 of the June news sheet for full details on how this will work.
