The United Church Dorchester

United in faith, united in action

 Hanging Cross

 All about our services

As our name suggests we are a union of two churches and our roots lie in both the Methodist Church and United Reformed Church traditions. However, people from other traditions have also found their home here.

As a Christian community we welcome everyone because God loves all people. We value our diversity.  Whatever our age, background, culture, gender or race, we each have something special to share with others.

We try to provide a programme of work, worship and witness that is family-friendly and embracing of all ages. Our aim is to provide the conditions in which faith can come alive and grow.

Everyday Prayer

Thanks be to you, loving God, for the joy at the heart of the faith we profess, a joy built not on sand but on the rock of Christ.

Thanks be to you, loving God, for the gospel's good news, relevant at all times, everywhere.

Thanks be to you, loving God, for the joy of Easter: darkness overcome by light, the pain of the cross swallowed up in the hope of resurrection.

Thanks be to you, loving God, for the power of the gospel to transform and make new, own Jesus' name, Amen.
