Requests for help

Summer events needing volunteer support
We need volunteers to help with:
Tolpuddle Festival (18th and 19th July)
Family Fun Days in Church (1st and 29th August)
Dorset County Show (5th and 6th September)

Please see the July and August News sheet for more details - and then let Peter Jenner know if you can help with any of these.

Ideas for Teatime or after school provision
Please see the July and August News sheet to see how we are working up ideas to provide something for families to come to after school - an idea that the late Mary Martin was very keen on. If you've got skills to share as part of this, please talk to Peter Jenner.

Vision magazine advertising volunteer
Since Marion Cox's retirement, we are looking for another volunteer to look after our advertisers. The role involves sending out an annual invoice and
checking these have been paid, distributing each new magazine and encouraging new advertisers. Please see Wendy Hilton if you can help.

Could you help with PowerPoint?
Four of us take it in turns to prepare the Sunday morning PowerPoint and run it during the service. It would give us all much more flexibility if we could have one or two others who would join the team.

If you haven’t used PowerPoint, but are familiar with other programs in the Microsoft Office suite, then it wouldn’t take much to learn, and members of
the team would be happy to help you get familiar with the software. Likewise, technical problems can occur very occasionally in the service but you wouldn’t be on your own as there are several of us around who could help sort any problems. If you think that you would like to join us please contact John Hilton.

Communion Stewards We need a couple more communion stewards who are able to serve in the balcony, which includes carrying the trays of wine upstairs.  If you can help with communion 4 times a year, please see Wendy.

Coffee Lounge
Help is needed once a month with serving coffees and welcoming visitors to the Coffee Lounge on Tuesday morning. It is a pleasant way to spend the morning and a wonderful way to meet other members and visitors to Dorchester. Help is needed from 9 am to 12.30, it is truly not arduous - please see Elizabeth Haynes for more information.

Wednesday Maket Service Stewarding
Help is needed with Stewarding the Wednesday Market Service.  This is once a month, from 10.15 to 11.15, though if there were more volunteers it could be less often.  This is a simple but important service, giving a warm welcome to our visitors, it is also a good way to meet other members and outside visitors to the church. Please see Elizabeth Haynes for more information.
