Welcome Service and Dedication of the new Dorset South & West (DSW) Circuit All are warmly invited to a Celebration of our coming together in a new Dorset South & West Circuit and welcoming Revd Helen Harrell and Revd Kate Konrad as ministers to the Circuit. The date is Saturday 30th August, and we are meeting at United Church Dorchester. The programme is as follows:2 to 4 pm - "A time of study and fellowship" led by the Chair of District, with a focus on Prayer - ALL WELCOME - but there will be a particular focus for Church Leaders / Stewards and Local Preachers / Worship Leaders 4 pm - Cream / Afternoon Tea - ALL WELCOME, but for catering purposes please let Jacqui Trent know if you are joining us 5pm (for a 5.15pm start) - Welcome Service & Dedication of new Circuit: ALL WELCOME
Requests for help Story Tots We need help on Thursday 3rd July to set up Story Tots at 8.30am and clear up at 10.45am, and a couple of people to stay for the full session, 9.30 – 11.00. Please have a word with Pauline Humphrey if you can help. Story Tots Plus will be on Thursdays 24th and 31st July and 7th and 14th August. Again, if anyone would like to come and help during the summer period please see Peter Jenner. Ride and Stride The Dorset Historic Churches Ride & Stride will take place this year on Saturday 13th September - see the Latest News for more details. As in years past, the church will be open and staffed between 10 am and 6pm, so if you could spare an hour or two on the day to welcome Riders and Striders to UCD, Shawn Board would be pleased to hear from you. Once numbers of helpers are ascertained, Shawn will then be in contact with you again and compile a rota. It is hoped that a sufficient number of people will come forward to operate a shift system as past years, but whatever you can manage would be appreciated. Communion Stewards We need a couple more communion stewards who are able to serve in the balcony, which includes carrying the trays of wine upstairs. If you can help with communion 4 times a year, please see Wendy. Coffee Lounge Help is needed once a month with serving coffees and welcoming visitors to the Coffee Lounge on Tuesday morning. It is a pleasant way to spend the morning and a wonderful way to meet other members and visitors to Dorchester. Help is needed from 9 am to 12.30, it is truly not arduous - please see Elizabeth Haynes for more information. Wednesday Maket Service Stewarding Help is needed with Stewarding the Wednesday Market Service. This is once a month, from 10.15 to 11.15, though if there were more volunteers it could be less often. This is a simple but important service, giving a warm welcome to our visitors, it is also a good way to meet other members and outside visitors to the church.
