The United Church Dorchester has traditionally hosted many events for the church, supported charities and the local community - please see below for information about events in the near future. Thursday 8th, Friday 9th, Saturday 10th August: Champions Holiday Club Running from 10am – 12 noon each day, this is a FREE Holiday Club for 5 – 11yr olds (school years 1 – 6). With limited places, please book early on Eventbrite to avoid disappointment. The theme will be “Going for Gold”, to reflect the Olympics being held in Paris during the summer. The mornings will consist of two activities, sports challenges, lots of fun with crafts and games, and juice and biscuits. We also plan to take the children to Borough Gardens on the Friday morning, weather permitting.
Saturday 6th July, 7.30pm: Encore Singers The Encore Singers are presenting ‘Music for a Summer’s Evening’ on Saturday, July 6 at 7.30pm in the United Church. James Crawshaw is the musical director for the concert, whilst Alistair Dean will be accompanist. Alex Best will be soloist, with a special appearance during the evening from the Deans Academy. There will be a retiring collection to raise funds for the Friends of Dorset County Hospital, a charity providing comfort and help to patients and their families. Entry is free and refreshments will be available.
Saturday 13th July, 10.00am - 12 noon: DPA Coffee Morning Dorchester Poverty Action will be running this coffee morning in the church hall to raise much-needed funds: there will be refreshments (including homemade cake!), stalls and a raffle. Donations for stalls are welcome and can be given to Wendy Hilton.
Fridays, 9.00am – 12.00 noon: Dorchester Country Market Dorchester Country Market is now takes place every Friday morning from 9am until 12noon in the Main Hall at United Church Dorchester – please enter via the Charles Street Entrance at the rear of the building, opposite the Library. Do come along for home made baked goods, preserves, plants and a huge range of crafts – all sold by the makers and producers at our local market.
