Tuesday 17 February, 2.30-5.00pm: Pancake Party 

Come and share the fun of Shrove Tuesday – a Pancake Party for all to enjoy! 

The Hall will be open to share the excitement of pancake making (including Gluten Free), before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. 

 Please come to the Charles Street entrance of the Church (opposite the Library).

Wednesdays 18th February – 1st April, 12 noon – 1.30pm: Lent Lunches 

This year Ash Wednesday will be the 18th February, and we shall serve Lent lunches for seven weeks from then until Easter. Every Wednesday from 12 noon until 1.30pm, Sue Gannaway and her team of helpers will serve a variety of salads and a delicious selection of desserts, all accompanied by a cup of tea or coffee. 

The lunches will be served in the hall immediately after the Coffee Morning. Why not come along and enjoy a lovely meal in good company? 

The charge is £8, with all profits going to Christian Aid and Action for Children.

Saturday 14th March, 10.00am – 12.00 noon: Dorchester Poverty Action Coffee Morning 

Dorchester Poverty Action will be running this coffee morning in the church hall to raise much-needed funds: there will be free refreshments, and stalls with cakes, books, gifts and a raffle.

Saturday 14 March, 7.00pm: Action for Children Quiz 

Come and support this Quiz Evening at UCD – you can come as a team (max 6 people) or join a team on the night. Coffee/tea and cake provided, with entry just £5 per person (all proceeds to Action for Children).

Saturday 21 March, 10.00 – 12.00: Easter Coffee Morning 

Come and explore a range of stalls with cakes, crafts, books, jigsaws and plants, with all proceeds going to The Leprosy Mission

Refreshments also available.

Tuesday 31 March, 2.00-4.00pm: Brass Café Concert 

Come and enjoy a free afternoon of delightful brass band music and complimentary refreshments, at the first public event held by Brass Café Dorchester.   

The band (part of Durnovaria Silver Band) is a community initiative to provide a free Daytime Brass Concert on a quarterly basis in a warm friendly safe environment, with free refreshments and a partnership with external agencies who may offer advice on health and wellbeing if required.

First Wednesdays of the month (except January, May or December), 7.30pm - 9.15pm: Dorchester and District Gardening Club

Dorchester and District Gardening Club meets in the United Church Main Hall - entrance from Charles Street - on most first Wednesdays of the month. Meetings usually host a speaker with subjects including gardening and non-gardening subjects and there is also a draw, bring and buy stall and refreshments served. 

Visitors are most welcome (all meetings are open to non members) - entrance £4 on the door. See the monthly poster for the next event, or for a list of speakers or more information email Jane, DDGC Secretary

Fridays, 9.00am – 12.00 noon: Dorchester Country Market

Dorchester Country Market is now takes place every Friday morning from 9am until 12noon in the Main Hall at United Church Dorchester – please enter via the Charles Street Entrance at the rear of the building, opposite the Library.

Do come along for home made baked goods, preserves, plants and a huge range of crafts – all sold by the makers and producers at our local market.
