Sunday 16 November, 4.00pm: Circuit Service for Safeguarding Sunday Everyone is invited to join us on Sunday 16th November 2025, 4 pm at UCD, for a Dorset South and West Circuit Service to mark this year's Safeguarding Sunday. This service will be led by Jane Fisher (Regional Officer for Safeguarding - South West (Southampton) | The Connexional Team) and Revd John Yarrien, and will be followed by refreshments. Safeguarding Sunday is supported by the charity thirtyone:eight. The charity works to ensure that churches can continue to play an important role in their communities, offering support to many vulnerable groups. It also raises local awareness of the importance of safeguarding and to celebrate the positive steps already being taken by churches to counteract the appalling historic abuse that has taken place within many institutions, including the church.
Saturday 22 November 10.00am – 2.00pm: PSA Blood Test Event Graham Fulford Charitable Trust and New-Man Prostate Cancer Support are joining together to offer the chance for any man aged 40 – 80 to have a free Prostate blood test: visit the Mypsatests website, and then either Log in or Register for an account to book a test. PSA testing is a valuable tool in the early detection of prostate cancer. The group averages a detection rate for evidence of cancer in around 10% of the men who come forward for testing at these events, sending them on to GPs and specialists for further investigation. They expect a take-up of 200 men, so potentially saving, or at least prolonging, 20 lives.
Saturday 29 November 7.30: Encore Singers The Encore Singers, under the direction of James Crawshaw, and with guest soloist Gracie Lucas, will provide an evening of songs from stage and screen, together with some seasonal favourites. Entry is free, with a retiring collection for The Leprosy Mission.
